Classification of Hot Melt Adhesive

Hot melt adhesive is an important category of adhesives. It has 100% solid content, no solvent, environmental protection, non-toxicity and fast curing. Usually refers to the appearance of solid state at room temperature, when heated to a certain temperature, it melts into a viscous liquid. After coating and wetting the adherend, after pressing and cooling to room temperature, the bonded adhesive is completed in a few seconds. Widely used in automated packaging, sanitary products, label tape, medical and pharmaceutical, automotive interiors, building waterproof, furniture, printing and binding, footwear, clothing and other industries.

Hot melt adhesives can be classified in many forms:

(1) According to the main material: it can be divided into polyethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) hot melt adhesive, polyamide (PA) hot melt adhesive, polyurethane (PU) hot melt adhesive, polyolefin (PO) hot melt adhesive, block copolymer (SBC) hot melt adhesive, etc.

(2) According to the shape: can be divided into hot melt rubber, hot melt glue stick, hot melt adhesive block, hot melt adhesive film, hot melt adhesive powder, etc.

(3) According to the use: can be divided into filter hot melt adhesive, automatic packaging hot melt adhesive, automotive interior hot melt adhesive, label hot melt adhesive, tape hot melt adhesive, plaster hot melt adhesive, etc.

(4) Other classifications: whether it is reactive, color, whether it is natural, whether it is pressure sensitive, etc.
